Yaro Starak B.A., M.S.W., Adv.Dip.SW., Dip. GT.

Yaro finished his undergraduate studies majoring in psychology at the University of Manitoba and later finished his post graduate studies in Social Work at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He continued his further studies at the University of Toronto specialising in adult education, group dynamics and supervision. He trained as a Gestalt Therapist at the Toronto Gestalt Institute and after graduating he became faculty member of that Institute for four years. Over the past twenty years Yaro has been teaching and training various men’s groups and Gestalt groups in Brisbane, Sydney and overseas in Sweden, Denmark, Mexico, Germany, Estonia, Italy and Spain. Yaro has published and co-edited four books in Gestalt Therapy and Group Process, three training manuals and numerous articles in several international journals on group work, Gestalt Therapy, Family Therapy, Alternative living, Men’s issues and Deep Psychology. He is a regular presenter at the Psychotherapy in Australia Conference and the GANZ conference. He is a founding member of GANZ (Gestalt Australia & New Zealand).
Tanya Field

Tanya is the co-founder of Terrigal Gestalt Institute and has studied and worked in various social and therapeutic fields for over 12 years, including: hypnotherapy, youth work, community development and psychotherapy. She graduated from a 4 year Diploma in Gestalt therapy at the Brisbane Gestalt Institute and currently works in private practice on the Central Coast of NSW. Tanya's work as a Gestalt therapist and trainer is inspired by her spirituality and desire to support others to live connected, meaningful and fulfilling lives. She is passionate in her pursuit of building strong communities and a sustainable lifestyle. Tanya is an advocate for the empowerment of women within the ‘miraculous' process of pregnancy & birth, and has had herself, the profound experience of birthing two of her children naturally , at home. She is married with three children and considers her family her greatest joy.
Brian Nannetti.

Brian has worked as a counsellor and group worker for eight years. He has practiced in a variety of settings including General and Psychiatric Hospitals and Palliative care. He has worked in welfare settings with women suffering domestic violence, and facilitated groups for men seeking to change their abusive behavior. More recently, Brian spent two years as group and family therapist specializing in the treatment of addictions, PTSD and mood/personality disorders. He is a Gestalt Therapist and Trainer in private practice in Sydney and the Central Coast , and co-runs occasional weeklong workshops in Yalom style group facilitation. Brian is interested in how we keep ourselves safe (and perhaps limited) in relation to others. He believes that therapy is about relationship. It is about co-creating an appropriately supportive environment, where we can explore what lies beyond our once necessary limitations. He lives in Umina with his partner Marion, and Emma-Jane their four year old daughter, who reckons boys are SO annoying.
Margarete Koenning

Margarete has worked as a Gestalt Therapist for over 23 years with a background in Social Work, working with abused women and addiction. Margarete graduated from the Frankfurt Gestalt Institute, where she studied for five years and later worked as a Trainer. She conducts regular training workshops for various Gestalt Institutes throughout Australia and facilitates professional supervision for individuals and groups of Gestalt Therapists. Margarete has also trained in Europe as a family constellation therapist and facilitates workshops in NSW & QLD. She lives with her husband in the small community of Maleny. Nature and family are what give her support for work and life.

Dinah Buchanan (M.Couns., Grad.Dip.Gestalt Therapy, RGN, GANZ College member)

Dinah is a Counsellor & Psychotherapist with many years experience in Counselling, Child & Family Health, Gestalt Therapy, and Group Training. She has offered Counselling, Psychotherapy & Supervision, mentoring & training to individuals, couples and Groups, for over ten years on the North Coast & in Sydney. She has been a Gestalt trainer for the past 2 years and a trainer for the St Mark's Cert. 1V Counselling Course in Gordon, Sydney. She currently has a private practice on the Northern Beaches.

Bru Furner

Bru originally trained as a clinical psychologist. He worked since 1967 as an individual and group therapist and retired from full time work 18 months ago. Bru taught psychotherapy experientially for 30 years to psychology clinical masters at the University of Newcastle and was, until he retired, a teacher of Tai Chi. He has had a particular interest in the body therapies and has trained in a number of those disciplines, he also co-founded and co-directed a Gestalt training group in Newcastle (The Gestalt Group of NSW) with Dick Armstrong and continued as co-director with Marion Armstrong and later Bruce Chenoweth throughout the eighties. Bru is currently running some training groups for various Gestalt Institutes plus a little supervision of Gestalt therapists, but is now mainly enjoying renovating his old house with his wife Tracey.
Mirjam Busch & Rudolph Jarosewitsch

Mirjam Busch and Rudolf Jarosewitsch are experienced therapists (MNZAC), who for the last ten years have specialised in working together with couples. Both work in private practice in Christchurch , New Zealand , and have developed their own dynamic and creative approach, combining a male and female perspective. “Our philosophy is based on the insight that difficulties and struggles in relationships can provide an opportunity for personal development and deepened connection between partners”.
